Who are we?
GenLink is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Austin, TX, dedicated to reducing the digital divide for senior citizens. Our goal is to help senior citizens feel more confident when it comes to using their phones, laptops, tablets, or watches, while also preparing them to detect scams and use LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Our work has been recognized on the Cedar Park local news channel and at the Cedar Park senior expo.

Who can participate?
Any student can participate! No coding experience is needed.
FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS: Winning this hackathon and getting your project featured at a local senior center for more users could be a great add-on for your college application!
Hackathon Theme
Build a senior-friendly website, app, or game that will help senior citizens navigate through technology easier. We would especially love if you could incorporate AI into your project in any feasible way.
GenLink's goal for this hackathon is to utilize the winning projects for future use at our senior centers, so build your project with dedication!
Prizes
Please note that this hackathon does not have any cash prizes. All of our prizes come from sponsors in the form of memberships, coupons, and discounts. We have simply kept the prize value for all of the prizes detailed below.

- 2-3 minute demo video
- Pictures of your website, app, or game in your submission
If your project is a website or a game (if applicable), please attach a link to your project in your submission. You can get a free domain from platforms like Vercel or Netlify. If your project is a mobile app, you may submit the requirements listed above unless you also have a link to your app published on the app store.
